George Bishop
 
George Bishop is the author of five chapbooks. His full length collection, "Expecting Delays", was published by FutureCycle Press in January 2013. His new chapbook "Following Myself Home" won the 2013 Peter Meinke Prize from Yellow Jacket Press. Recent work appears in Cold Mountain Review and Commonline Journal. Bishop attended Rutgers University and now lives and writes in Saint Cloud, Florida.
 
 
While you are here to meet George and enjoy his writings take a stroll around town and enjoy the other festivities taking place - visit The Food Truck Bazaar and downtown businesses! Many of the unique shops will be open, There are lots of activities taking place during St. Clouds monthly Hipstoric 3rd Friday The New York Artist Shop hosts a free-featured artist reception on the third Friday of every month. Come by the shop and browse through a unique and eclectic display of local artwork, hand designed home decor, antiques and collectables.

Fourth Annual Dia de los Muertos and Monster Factory - Call for Artists


Hello Artists,

We are gearing up for the Fourth Annual Dia de los Muertos and Monster Factory exhibit.  We will be accepting artwork in both the Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) and Monster Factory (Halloween) themes.  Below is the link for the call with all the details.  Please be sure to pass this along to all your creative artist friends!

Clermont Art Festival - call for artists DEADLINE TODAY OCT 10

DOWNTOWN CLERMONT ARTS FESTIVAL CALL FOR ARTISTS

CLERMONT, FLORIDA – October 10th is the final deadline for juried Artists and Crafters to submit applications for acceptance to the 7th Annual Downtown Clermont Art Festival (DCAF), sponsored by the South Lake Art League and produced by the Clermont Downtown Partnership. The show is Saturday and Sunday November 2rd and 3rd in Historic Downtown Clermont. Judges will award cash prizes in five categories: Fine Art 2-D; Fine Art 3-D; Photography; Sculpture; and, Fine Craft. Best of Show will also receive a cash award. Booth fees for juried entries is $150.00. The application process is online athttp://www.zapplication.org. Non-juried exhibitors may submit work for consideration directly to the CDP DCAF acceptance committee but are not eligible for cash prizes. Non-juried booth fees are $90.00. The Downtown Clermont Art Fest features MainStage live entertainment (Jazz, Blues, Contemporary music; Dance; etc). A Street Players Stage is featured in the Kids Interactive Art Zone. Additional food vendors and festival activities are included. Downtown shops and restaurants adjacent to the displays are open during the art event. DCAF2013 is free to the public.

Clermont, the largest and fastest growing city in Lake county, is a 128-year old town once considered one of Florida’s most significant citrus production areas. Renown for its rolling hills and numerous lakes, Clermont is easily accessible by the Florida Turnpike, Highway 50 (Colonial west out of Orlando and Winter Garden) and Highway 27 (north/south). Just 20 miles west of Orlando and 20 miles northwest of Disney World, Clermont is often called the “Gem of the Hills”.

The Clermont Downtown Partnership (CDP) is a group of 80-plus property and business owners dedicated to bringing vitality to the Downtown Clermont area through Shopping, Dining, Professional Services and Entertainment as well as Art, Music, Theatre and other cultural events. Offering a wide variety of personal services, shopping, dining and entertainment opportunities, Historic Downtown Clermont is nestled between the shore of beautiful Lake Minneola and Florida Highway 50. The area includes the Historic Village and the Trailhead Square, trailhead for the The CDP hosts and promotes several events including the Farmer’s Market, Sidewalk Chalk Art/Earth Day/Got Kids, First Friday Family Food Truck Night, quarterly ArtWalks, DCAF and other activities. Artist's Registry Call for Artists - Members Exhibition

ArtistsRegistry.com Members Exhibition. Artists' Reception will be Thursday, November 21, 2013 from 6 - 9 PM at CityArts Factory in the Kiene/Quigley Community Gallery in downtown Orlando, during the Third Thursdays Art Walk. CityArts Factory is located at 29 S. Orange Ave., Orlando FL. 32801. This is a FREE Event. Artwork will be on display from November 21 - December 13, 2013. Make NO payments to the gallery. Payments are to be made to ArtistsRegistry.com.

Deadline to Apply is Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 4 PM.

To enter: Submit three (3) digital images of recent work at 72 dpi, 1000 pixels maximum dimension, jpg images on a CD or by e-mail and include a list of 3 images including title, medium, size and price and jpg file names, see below. We are having a recycled fashion show on Saturday, February 1st, 2014.  Our goal is to bring the fashion and art world together with the environmental community to promote sustainability in an innovative way.  This is a fundraiser as well.

At this time we are looking for artists and designers to enter looks for the runway show.  I know you are a huge part of the art scene here in Orlando.  I am hoping you can help us spread the word.  We can not wait to see what our local artists and designers can turn out!  Please see attached Call for Artists.
