Call for Hispanic Artists - Osceola County Administration Building

Hello Artists!
Hope you are doing well.  This is to let you know that the Osceola County Board of County Commissioners will be hosting the Hispanic Heritage Celebration on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 6:30 PM.  It is an absolute pleasure and honor for the opportunity to have you display your master pieces!
As an overview, the celebration will be held in the First floor lobby of the Administration Building located at 1 Courthouse Square in downtown Kissimmee, across from the Courthouse.  The celebration includes performances by a Folklore Dance group and by students from the Osceola School for the Arts, in addition to light refreshments catered by acclaimed local Chef Joel Rodríguez’ (Latin-inspired cuisine) and special artwork exhibition by talented local Hispanic artists (YOU!!!).
The public will enjoy the exhibition, performance and refreshments all in the lobby.  Since the lobby dimensions are not extensive and we want to accommodate everyone, we may limit the number of master pieces, depending on the size.  Please bring your own easel for display of your artwork.
At your earliest convenience, please let me know if you will be able to participate this year.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns at 407-742-2006 or via email.  Once again, we are ecstatic and appreciate your participation on this grand event!  Look forward to hearing from you!  Regards! Brenda

The New York Artist Shop July Artist: Bob Boynton

The New York Artist Shop
Located in Historic Downtown St. Cloud
Is proud to host an Artist reception on:
July 19th from 5-9

Featuring this month's Artist of the month.

Bob Boynton

Bob is an emerging Florida artist with unique creative artwork.   His award winning work is a combination of photography and painting.   The photographic portions of his work are high-resolution digital giclees, printed on canvas in a six-color process.   Bob then extends the photograph by hand painting the frame in acrylic to complete the artwork.  This combination is a perfect marriage between photography and painting, allowing Bob to utilize his abilities and passions in this creative and unique art form.
His interest in photography developed during High School where he was a yearbook photographer and worked part-time in a photographic studio.  He used his photographic knowledge to earn spending money during college.  While in South West Baptist University, Bob majored in Psychology and Art.  After graduation, he pursued a career as a Florist.  Bob came to Orlando in 1984 as a floral designer for Walt Disney World.  Bob is presently retired from Walt Disney World after 22 years of service as a decorator.
Bob started painting this type of art form in 2002 using glossy enlargements of his photographs taken with his 35mm camera.  In 2004, he switched to digital photography.  Digital photography allows Bob to see immediate results of pictures taken.   Having changed to digital photography, he soon began to evaluate the process of changing his photographs from glossy to canvas.  He felt that the giclees provided a more artistic rendering of his photographs.  Bob's artwork is presently on display in two galleries in Florida, two galleries in Western North Carolina one gallery in Arkansas, and one gallery in Iowa.
While you are here to meet Bob and enjoy his artwork take a stroll around town and enjoy the other festivities taking place.
Many of the unique shops will be open, There are lots of activities taking place during St. Clouds monthly Hipstoric 3rd Friday The New York Artists Shop hosts a free-featured artist reception on the third Friday of every month.
