From Start To Finish: The Florida Sculptors Guild Exhibition

Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens
633 Osceola Avenue, Winter Park, FL 32789
Exhibit Title:  From Start To Finish: The Florida Sculptors Guild Exhibition
Exhibit Runs: May 7 - July 21, 2013

(WINTER PARK, FL April 15, 2013) Providing an insightful behind-the-scenes experience, the Start to Finish exhibition will highlight the processes used to create each sculpture. Through photographs, sketches, and models, visitors will see how sculpture develops from start to finish: the formation of an original concept, the methods and materials used, the stages and modifications involved, and the fulfilled vision. Each piece of sculpture will be as unique as the Guild’s diverse membership and will range from traditional to contemporary.  The exhibition is a testament to the beauty of the process and the high caliber of art coming from sculptural visionaries in Central Florida.

This exhibition serves as a channel through which each of the unique components involved in creating sculpture is celebrated and shared with the public. We seek to expose the various elements of sculpture-making as significant contributors that continue to ensure the vibrant cultural identity of our community. The Florida Sculptors Guild is a unique, one-of-a-kind organization in Florida. It is a culturally diverse network of professional sculptors and supporters of the visual arts who are committed to enriching, engaging, and educating our community on the sculptural arts. The Guild provides emerging and established sculptors the space, education, exposure, and connections they need for artistic, creative, and professional advancement.
The Florida Sculptors Guild is comprised of all different types of three-dimensional artists in Central Florida. With the shared vision of advancing the sculptural arts in our community, The Polasek and the Florida Sculptors Guild are proud to share with the public the subtle and complex intricacies of this “monumental” art form.
